"Women must weep" (http://tinyurl.com/y2tv7732). Passages in Portuguese:

Women Must Weep – or unite against war
Patriarchy and Militarism

War, it is argued, brings out the noblest qualities of mankind.

The Dictator, it is claimed, is neither a menace nor a monster, but, on the contrary, the consummation of manhood.

He is the embodiment of the State; the State is supreme; both men and women must obey its commands [...]. Obedience is all.

If we could free ourselves from slavery we should free men from tyranny. Hitlers are bred by slaves.

Women Must Weep – or unite against war
Patriarchy and Militarism

an eternity of dominion on the one hand and of servility on the other. For the degradation of being a slave is only equalled by the degradation of being a master.

There’s also Joyce's A Portrait (http://tinyurl.com/y24r9sul), but God’s Own Country is a long way from Ireland.

Subject: Short Trailer for new translation of "Jacob's Room" into Portuguese

Passages in Portuguese:

The battleships ray out over the North Sea,
keeping their stations accurately apart. At a
given signal all the guns are trained on a target

composed faces into the depths of the sea; and
there impassively (though with perfect mastery
of machinery) suffocate uncomplainingly together.

Jacob’s room had a round table and two low
chairs. There were yellow flags in a jar on the
mantelpiece; a photograph of his mother;
cards from societies with little raised crescents,
coats of arms, and initials; notes and pipes;
on the table lay paper ruled with a red margin ...

“Such confusion everywhere!” exclaimed
Betty Flanders, bursting open the bedroom door.
Bonamy turned away from the window.
“What am I to do with these, Mr. Bonamy?”
She held out a pair of Jacob’s old shoes.
