[Vwoolf] VW sighting?

[image: Inline image 1]MLA was so magnificent: lovely camaraderie, fabulous
papers, riverscapes right out of Orlando!!

But there is one portrait at the Art Institute that always makes me think
of Virginia Woolf.

It is William Glackens 1905 portrait, At Monquins, which always, hauntingly
makes me think of a Virginia Stephen somehow sent in the wrong direction,
and ending up, instead of Bloomsbury, in some captive role as beauty.

I'll attache the painting here, which is in the ART & FOOD exhibit at the
Art Institute, and in their permanent collection.
