Greetings to all,

I saw a performance in New Haven several years ago, and it was amazingly good.

And by the way, if you do go, and you have time to write a short review, I will include it in either the Spring or the Fall 2013 issue of the Virginia Woolf Miscellany.

Woolfians,

I can't speak to this production, but I saw the Sarah Ruhl play in New York and I thought it was an unusually good adaptation.

If you go, it'd be great to hear about the production on the list.

The 2013 GAURAV GOPALAN READING SERIES

Orlando
by Sarah Ruhl, adapted from the novel by Virginia Woolf
Wednesday, April 17, 8 pm
Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington VA
Directed by Amber Jackson
Featuring Acting Company members Sara Barker and Kim Curtis

One of America's hottest playwrights adapts for the stage the work of one of history's most inventive writers. Sarah Ruhl's new adaptation of Virginia Woolf's most imaginative novel,Orlando, is a wild and wonderful romp through centuries and across genders. Based in part on the life of Woolf's lover Vita Sackville-West, the novel has been described as "the most charming love-letter in literature." The reading will take place in Artisphere's Town Hall/Lobby and the bar will be open!
Cheers (still waiting for spring--and the cherry blossoms-- to bloom)--
Karen Levenback
