1) NSF has added additional due dates for the *Cyberlearning and Future
Learning Technologies* (
http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=504984) program
(formerly Cyberlearning:
Transforming Education). From the program synopsis:

The purpose of the *Cyberlearning and Future Learning Technologies* program
is to integrate opportunities offered by emerging technologies with
advances in what is known about how people learn to advance three
interconnected thrusts:

   - *Innovation:* inventing and improving next-generation genres (types)
of learning technologies, identifying new means of using technology for
fostering and assessing learning, and proposing new ways of integrating
learning technologies with each other and into learning environments to
   foster and assess learning;
   - *Advancing understanding of how people learn in technology-rich
learning environments:* enhancing understanding of how people learn and
how to better foster and assess learning, especially in technology-rich
learning environments that offer new opportunities for learning and through
data collection and computational modeling of learners and groups of
learners that can be done only in such environments; and
   - *Promoting broad use and transferability of new genres:* extracting
lessons from experiences with these technologies that can inform design and
use of new genres across disciplines, populations, and learning
environments; advancing understanding of how to foster learning through
effective use these new technologies and the environments they are
   integrated into.

Proposals are expected to address all three of the program's thrusts. Awards
will be made in three research categories, each focusing on a different
stage of research and development: Exploration (EXP), Design and
Implementation (DIP), and Integration (INT). The program will also support
small Capacity-Building Projects (CAP), e.g., conferences, workshops, and
partnership-building activities.

Budget amounts and deadlines vary by type of proposal:

   - Exploration Projects (EXPs): $550,000 over 2-3 years. Proposals due
   Dec 19, 2014.
   - Development and Implementation (DIPs): $1,350,000 over 3-4 years.
   Proposals due Jan 19, 2015.
   - Integration (INT) Projects: $2,500,000 over 4-5 years. LOI due May 12,
   proposals due July 14, 2014.
   - Capacity-Building Projects (CAPs): Funding "varies." Proposals due
   July 25 and Dec 1, 2014; March 27, 2015.

NSF had a webinar about the Cyberlearning solicitation, and a
videorecording is available at

2) The deadline for proposals to the Ohio State *University Libraries
Course Enhancement Grants* program has been extended to May 7 (
http://library.osu.edu/news/grants-awards/course-enhancement/):

$2000 will be awarded to instructors to enhance a course by substantially
integrating library resources, services, and instruction on finding,
evaluating and using information.

   - Foster collaboration between instructors and librarians in developing
course and instructional content using the full range of resources
available and incorporating information literacy instruction.
   - Innovate and impact instruction around advancing student understanding
of and critical thinking in regards to information.
   - Increase instructor and student use of library services in ways that
will enhance the course such as electronic reserves, copryright and rights
management, reference, instruction, and document delivery.
   - Improve the use of library and other information materials in the
course. These include but are not limited to electronic and print books and
journals, audio and visual resources, research databases, unique and
   special collections, and global resources.
