[STEM-funding] DOL Youth CareerConnect; O&E Engagement Impact, OSU CARES/OSU Extension, Service-Learning

*1) DOL Youth CareerConnect:* The US Department of Labor has announced a
new grant program (Youth CareerConnect) that is "designed to encourage
America's school districts, institutions of higher education, the workforce
investment system, and their partners to scale up evidence-based high
school models that will transform the high school experience for America's
youth" (http://www.doleta.gov/ycc/).

The Department of Labor intends to fund grants ranging from $2–$7 million
for up to 54 months. Proposals are due January 27, 2014. Jeff Agnoli and
Mindy Wright are organizing an informational meeting:

 We've learned from the program officer that this *IS* a limited submission
program.  An institution may only serve as the lead applicant on one
application, but it may serve as a partner on multiple applications.

*2) OSU Outreach and Engagement Impact Grants:* The Ohio State Office of
Outreach and Engagement has announced the RFPs for its 2014 grants programs
(http://outreachgrants.osu.edu):

   - Engagement Impact Grants
   - OSU CARES/OSU Extension Seed Grants
   - Service-Learning Grants

Proposals are due February 28. The Office of Outreach and Engagement will
hold an information session on December 16 from 12 noon – 1 pm in 110B Hale
