*1) NSF Promoting Research and Innovation in Methodologies for Evaluation
(PRIME):* The National Science Foundation has released a revised
solicitation for its PRIME program (
http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=504995). From the program
synopsis:

The Promoting Research and Innovation in Methodologies for Evaluation
(PRIME) program seeks to support research on evaluation with special
emphasis on: (1) exploring innovative approaches for determining the
impacts and usefulness of STEM education projects and programs; (2)
building on and expanding the theoretical foundations for evaluating STEM
education and workforce development initiatives, including translating and
adapting approaches from other fields; and (3) growing the capacity and
infrastructure of the evaluation field. Three types of proposals will be
supported by the program: Exploratory Projects that include
proof-of-concept and feasibility studies; more extensive Full-Scale
Projects; and workshops and conferences.

Proposals are due February 21, 2014. Exploratory Projects can be up to
$250,000 over 2 years, and Full-Scale Projects can be up to $800,000 over 3
years.

*2)* NSF and AAAS have announced a pair of opportunities to assist
applicants to the *Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program:*

   - a day-long workshop on January 9, 2014 in Washington, DC at AAAS
   - 90-minute webinars (3:00pm-4:30pm ET) on January 7 and 14, 2014

the Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers program. To

*4)* The deadline for proposals to the *NSF Discovery Research K-12
(DRK-12)* program has been postponed to Monday, December 9  (
http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=500047). From the program
page:

Due to a recently announced maintenance outage, Grants.gov will be
unavailable from 12:01 AM on Friday, December 6 until 11:59 PM on Sunday,
December 8.  Discovery Research K-12 (NSF 13-601), has an established
deadline date on Friday, December 6, 2013.  As a result of  the Grants.gov
website outage, the deadline to submit proposals in response to this
program solicitation has been extended to 5 p.m. submitter's local time on
Monday, December 9, 2013. This deadline extension applies to all proposals,
regardless of whether  they are submitted via FastLane or Grants.gov.
