So Mean Friday (10:30-11:30, Campbell 209) will talk about models of
stereotyping in social cognition, and (possibly) its relationship to
memory. The following papers are attached. Vote early and often for
which we should read and discuss:

Journal of Social Issues, Vol. 65, No. 1, 2009, pp. 69--86 Multiracial
Faces: How Categorization Affects Memory at the Boundaries of Race Kristin
Pauker∗ and Nalini Ambady

Journal of Experimental Social Psychology 41 (2005) 506–514 Don’t
stereotype, think diVerent! Overcoming automatic stereotype activation by
mindset priming Kai Sassenberga,¤, Gordon B. Moskowitzb

Rakić, T., Steffens, M. C., & Mummendey, A. (2010, November 1). Blinded by
the Accent! The Minor Role of Looks in Ethnic Categorization. Journal of
Personality and Social Psychology.
