Initiative as far and wide as possible.

It's something we've worked very hard on for the last 3 weeks or so, and
it would be great to have your help in distributing this to all of your
lists, your Facebook sites, etc. 

In short, this statement is signed by 81 faculty members from across
Stanford University in support of the University of Arizona linguists
and NCTE's statement - both of which demonstrate that Arizona's policy
is NOT based on educational and linguistic research, but rather on
misguided cultural assumptions which do more harm than good.

We support all efforts to improve the educational welfare of Latina/o
students, and ALL students, but our strong preference goes to programs
and policies that are supported by educational and linguistic research.
Arizona's new policy does not meet these criteria.
