members from across Stanford University in support of the University of Arizona
linguists and NCTE's statement - both of which demonstrate that Arizona's
policy is NOT based on educational and linguistic research, but rather on misguided
cultural assumptions which do more harm than good.</span><br>

<span class=apple-style-span>We support all efforts to improve the educational
welfare of Latina/o students, and ALL students, but our strong preference goes
to programs and policies that are supported by educational and linguistic
research. Arizona's new policy does not meet these criteria.</span><br>
