[Preplabstudents] Spring 2024- Week 14

Hi All,

Week 14 starts tomorrow! We have only 1250 meeting tomorrow. The remainder of the semester will be spent working on housekeeping tasks to get us ready for summer and fall labs. Please recall that our schedule has changed for the remainder of the semester:

4/8 we will open at 7:30am and close at noon.
4/9-4/22 we will open at 8:00am and close at 6:00pm.
4/23 is our end of semester party in 1015 McPherson lab.

Experiment Notes-Refer to the window notes and gather sheets for additional details.

LCP
We’ll need to put a cooler of ice on the third floor- it should be filled from the machine on the first floor. Be prepared to replace burets, 5 mL pipets, and blue bulbs. Salt is not necessary for this experiment.

Other Important Information-

Summer

The prep lab will be open over the summer. We will have labs running on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am-2:55pm. We’re happy to have as many of you around as possible. We’ll spend non-lab days working on packing unknowns and getting yearly tasks completed. The schedule is flexible, and we currently don’t have anyone that has committed to working over the summer. If you are interested, or have any questions, please let me know.

Fall Scheduling

The schedule for fall was opened to all prep lab students last week. It looks like there are still about 20 of you that have not entered a schedule. If you considering not returning to the prep lab please let me know. Otherwise, please get your hours scheduled as soon as you are able. If you need help scheduling, please reach out.

Compensating for reduced hours

I know that our modified hours will have an impact on the income of students that work primarily in the evenings. If you would like to add some hours during the day to offset this, please reach out.
