Cleaning Dirty Tubs and Trays

Please remember to wear your goggles and lab coat when completing this task. While the sink may be behind the blue line, the task itself necessitates the use of proper PPE.

Pay Rates & Application

The Lab Supervisors and I have been working with the Department to increase your pay rate. We are still waiting on final approval of the terms we negotiated. We are also hoping to give a small pay increase at the beginning of the second and third years of employment.

For those that know anyone that might be interested, the application should be up soon. I am just waiting on approval of new pay rates.

Spring Pizza Party

Our spring Pizza Party has been planned for April 25th at 3:00 pm in 1015 McPherson Lab. Please join us! We are usually visited by a couple of dogs!

Summer and Fall Positions

We will need student employees over the summer. By default, I am assuming that you are not planning to work in the prep lab over the summer and will return for the fall semester unless you tell me otherwise.

Those that are returning for the fall may now start scheduling on Teams. We will use the same plan as we did for the spring:

Accessing the AU23 Schedule

Open your OSU email account in a web browser. Then, select the “App Launcher” icon (the icon with 9 dots in the top left).

Select Microsoft Teams from the list of available apps.

On the left side, click the “more added apps” icon.

Select Shifts.

Navigate to the first week in August. You should see several open shifts. Request the shifts you would like by selecting each 30-minute increment necessary. Each person is required to schedule a minimum of 12 hours per week with a maximum of 20. Shifts must be at least 2 hours (4 consecutive 30-minute time blocks) or longer. Other arrangements are possible but must be pre-approved by me.

Please keep in mind that little flexibility will be given for last minute call offs and permanent switches once the semester begins. So, please choose your spots carefully. Be sure to account for any second session classes you may have enrolled in.

Note that we are just using the first week of August for scheduling purposes. You will be expected to follow the Fall schedule starting August 22nd. Training will wake please the week of August
