[Physics Business Operations]

Dear Physics Department,

We wanted to share some information that as the University is planning to re-open in stages the faculty and associated research labs want to be prepared when given the green light, so please note the below bullets:

  *   All UNIV General Funds (GF), like start-ups, allocations,  endowments and development require the college approval. This mostly happen automatically and college approvals are being processed more quickly.  They ask that we continue to provide a brief explanation on why purchase is critical when entering your eRequests.
     *   eRequest can and should be entered in anticipation of research labs being open first; again, note briefly why essential. The department plans to approval quickly.
  *   OSP spending can and should continue, currently mostly business as usual.
  *   Purchases of perishable items with Molecular Biology Supply Center (MBSC) should be opening soon; more guidelines to follow.
  *   Shipments can't be made to home address, so pick-up of deliveries needs to be coordinated; below website is helpful and changes regularly.
     *   https://busfin.osu.edu/central-receiving
  *   Human Resources-HR items(hires, changes, ODP, etc.)  are occurring much the same as purchasing, UNIV requires justification and OSP should be processed business as usual.
     *   The process does take longer, so please plan for extra lead-time, especially with UNIV HR items.
