Dear Colleagues,

I would like to send out some news on changes in leadership in the Physics Department.

As some of you may know, Robert Perry will be retiring June 30th! As part of this, he will stepping down as Vice Chair for Undergraduate Studies. Please join me in thanking Robert for his outstanding leadership in the this position and the tremendous number of contributions he has made to the department over the years. He will be missed as a regular faculty member. I sure hope we will still see him around a lot!

Related to this, I am delighted to announce that Tom Humanic has informally agreed to move into the position of Vice Chair for Undergraduate Studies. I am in the process of formalizing his appointment with the College. I am so grateful to him for agreeing to do this during such an unprecedented time.

To prepare for this Tom will be stepping down as Chair of Safety & Infrastructure Committee to focus on the Vice Chair transition. Zeke Johnston-Halperin has kindly agreed to be Chair of S&I. I would like to thank Zeke for stepping into this role. This committee is key for us to safely restart the labs.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!

Michael
