Recent Events

  Dear all,

   As is the case with all of you, we have watched the events of the past week with great concern and sadness.  It is discouraging to see the lack of progress in this country with regard to race relations.  In protests around the country, people’s voices cry out for justice.  We cannot say whether society will finally heed the cry. Too many times it has simply drifted away.  What we can say is that locally we will remain steadfast in our commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity. We absolutely must make sure we are advancing the cause within our departmental community.  As you consider ways you personally can help bring about a more just society, also consider ways you can help us become a better and more just department.
