[ALERT] Major System Outages for University Energy Savings Project - Building Closure February 7-8-9

Tri-annual preventive maintenance and major system outages associated with the University Energy Savings Project will occur in the PRB on February 7-8-9.

These work packages are highly impactful to all building environmental systems and include a closure of the building for general access.

Consequently, occupants should take care to consider the implications of this work to their research plans and other work and to make suitable preparations.

The attached tip sheet is offered as a tool for PRB occupants to raise awareness of the outage and to improve planning.

Office-side occupants and others who are not normally impacted by building system outages are encouraged to read the tip sheet for awareness of expected impacts to building comfort.

The document includes links to additional information, an FAQ section, and a general plan for which systems will be off at what times on what days.


Friday February 7th

- Normal tri-annual preventive maintenance originally scheduled for January 8th is shifted to this date

- Process Cooling Water System: controls conversion, system offline all day

- Heating Hot Water System: controls conversion, system offline all day

- Steam System: controls conversion, system offline all day

- Building Chilled Water System: controls conversion, system offline all day

- Air Handlers 1 thru 4 (all units): normal preventive maintenance, systems offline at various times all day

- Exhaust Fans 1 thru 6 (all units): normal preventive maintenance, systems offline at various times all day

- Building closure beginning at 7:00 pm (accommodation for special needs for entering building will be maintained as in past building closures)


Saturday February 8th

- Building closed all day (accommodation for special needs for entering building will be maintained as in past building closures)

- Air Handlers 1 thru 3: controls conversion, systems offline all day

- Exhaust Fans 1 thru 6 (all units): controls conversion, systems offline all day


Sunday February 9th

- Building closed all day (accommodation for special needs for entering building will be maintained as in past building closures)

- Air Handler 4, system offline all day

- Performance adjustments and commissioning of all systems modified during the work campaign


Monday February 10th

- Building re-opened

- Commissioning and adjustments of all modified systems (as needed)


Tuesday February 11th

- Commissioning and adjustments of all modified systems (as needed)
