This coming Monday we will host Professor Jnanadev Maharana of the IOP Bhubaneshwar to speak on S-matrix theory. Please join us at our usual time and place, and give him a warm welcome!

Speaker: Jnanadev Maharana
Title: The S-matrix Proposal
Abstract: First I shall recall the historical developments of the S-matrix theory and point out how causality and analyticity of the scattering amplitude are related. The quantum field theoretic developments will be discussed without appealing to any model. I shall also derive the upper bound on total cross section, the Froissart bound, for asymptotic energies.
