Front Office Staff

    Dear all,

     I want to update you on developments with staffing in the Front Office.  With regarding to the open positions, we have the following:


  *   Tanya Ash will be starting on Monday Feb 4th as a Front Office replacement for Rachel Schrock.  Some of you may recall that Tanya provided temporary help with CCAPP last year.  We are excited to have her join us.
  *   Senior Grants Manager Postion:  We have an official offer that is out to a candidate. Indications are that the candidate will accept.  When that is finalize, I will communicate it out.
  *   Posting of Jillian Fair’s position:  The posting will go live on Saturday.  The College worked with us to fast track the posting of that position.

    While we search for Jillian’s replacement, the College has arrange for Dawn Jones, the HR Associate in Mathematics, to help cover duties.  Dawn will be spending time in the Department and her hour in PRB will be announced in the future.  Kyle S. will also be helping out on some of the HR duties.

    As I mentioned in a previous email, I met with Kim Kinsel to discuss staffing in the department and share with her some of the challenges we face.  She welcomed hearing about the department and I believe there were at least parts of our situation that presented new information for her.  She expressed her willingness to help with temporary assistance with Jillian’s departure, which they have followed through with. She also talked about the restrictions that the College is facing from Central HR with regard to restructuring HR positions at the university and the development of the Career Roadmap project. It was a useful meeting to help Kim understand our situation and I view our meeting as part of an ongoing discussion.
