Dear Colleagues,

Luis Casian will be stepping down from his position as divisional dean for the natural and mathematical sciences at the end of this month. After a leave next spring, he will resume his faculty duties in the Math Department where he is a professor and former chair. Luis has served the college with dedication and excellence for many years, as a researcher and educator, a champion of state wide math education efforts, a superb chair of the department of mathematics, and a committed dean of NMS. We are deeply grateful to him for the contributions he has made to the college, the university and the state.

Professor Christopher Jaroniec will serve as the interim dean of NMS for the spring semester. A professor of chemistry, Chris currently serves as associate dean for research within the college. We are fortunate that he is willing to take on these additional duties for the next few months. A new dean of NMS will be selected this spring to begin in the fall of 2020.
