[NEWS] Freight Elevator Update

[Physics facility information]

Several service outages of the freight elevator have occurred in the past days, mostly related to the cab being stuck on the ground floor.

Although the OSU elevator maintenance service contractor has been responsive to each service request, they have struggled to resolve the root cause.

The latest information is that some number of repair parts have been ordered with an ETA requested but not yet known.

The critical role the freight elevator plays in daily operations has been clearly communicated to the service provider and to relevant FOD staff.

The elevator is currently out of service and will likely remain out of service at least through the night and into morning tomorrow.
