Please Join Dr. Abderrazzak Douhal from University of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM, Toledo, Spain) today in Physics Research Building 1080 (PRB 1080) at 1:30-2:30 PM for a special seminar.

Title: Ultrafast Dynamics within Confined Nanosystems: Relevance to Nanophotonics, Nanocatalysis and Nanomedicine

Abstract:

In this lecture, I will show and discuss results of studies using ultrafast spectroscopy, and single molecule fluorescence microscopy to interrogate molecules interacting with nanohosts ranging from micelles, cyclodextrins, proteins, silica-based materials to MOFs. The results clearly show the effect of nanoconfinement on the spectroscopy and photodynamics of the trapped guest ranging from drugs to organic molecules. I will discuss the relevance of the findings to nanophotonics, nanocatalysis and nanomedicine.  Best regards,
