<div><span style="font-size: 12pt;">In this lecture, I will show and discuss results of studies using ultrafast spectroscopy, and single molecule fluorescence microscopy to interrogate molecules interacting with nanohosts ranging from micelles, cyclodextrins,
proteins, silica-based materials to MOFs. The results clearly show the effect of nanoconfinement on the spectroscopy and photodynamics of the trapped guest ranging from drugs to organic molecules. I will discuss the relevance of the findings to nanophotonics,
