The ASC VPN service supports full-tunnel capability, required for remotely accessing sites that check to see if you're on OSU campus.
Instructions
When connecting to the ASC VPN using the Cisco AnyConnect client, after specifying that you'd like to connect to vpn.asc.ohio-state.edu, you'll be prompted for login information. Above the username prompt, you'll see a pulldown list called Group. Change it from ASC-VPN to ASC-VPN-TunnelAll, to use the full tunnel.
If you have other questions about how to configure and use the ASC VPN, see https://osuasc.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=14542.
Background
The ASC VPN has supported full-tunnel capability since October. However, when the message was sent out on December 2 announcing the retirement of the Physics VPN, we did not mention that the ASC VPN had this important capability. This has led to some confusion and concern. It seemed best to let everyone know that the capability is, in fact, there.
If you have any questions about this, or any other service, please let me know.
Thank you,
Brian.
