Learn about changes to 2014 Health Plans

Have you heard about the changes being made to Ohio State's 2014 medical plans? Do you know what steps you need to take to prepare for those changes? A new video outlines these changes, why they're being made, and what action employees need to take to have access to all available medical plans for 2014. Taking a proactive, informed approach to your well-being saves money and leads to better health.  To get the information you need to take charge of your health and to access the most cost-effective health plans:


*         Obtain your biometric health values. Get your values from your Primary Care Provider or at a free on-campus screening. Visit yp4h.osu.edu<http://yp4h.osu.edu> to find out what values you need or to schedule an on-campus screening.



*         Complete your PHA by September 30. It only takes 15-20 minutes. Visit yp4h.osu.edu<http://yp4h.osu.edu>, and click "Log in to My Plan."





*         Act on the results of your PHA. Visit yp4h.osu.edu<http://yp4h.osu.edu>, and click on "Continuing Your Journey" for information about resources available to you at Ohio State.


Those faculty and staff who choose not to participate in the PHA will be limited to only one health plan with higher premiums and deductibles, as well as lower coinsurance coverage.

More specific details about the 2014 plans are forthcoming, but they will include a decrease in the subsidy (the portion Ohio State pays toward coverage) for spouses/partners to bring Ohio State in line with other employers, including its benchmark institutions. Premium increases for individual coverage will be below 5 percent for 2014.
