[CRITICAL] AHU-1 OFFLINE - Drive Belt Issues Continue

[Physics facility information]

Air Handler 1 which serves the lab side south end is offline due to drive belt problems that continue from yesterday.

FOD maintenance teams are on site and working to resolve the outage.

The underlying issue remains drive pulleys that were discovered to be worn to the point of "end of useful life" and have developed a sharp edge which cuts into the belts and causes very rapid belt failure.

Replacement drive pulleys are on order and expected to arrive today.  Unfortunately, to stay online as much as possible, the air handler is run with the worn out pulleys and continues to consume costly belt sets and continues to experience outages caused by pulley-related belt failure.

Drive pulleys were not a normal spare part stock item, but based on this experience, the Physics facility team and FOD will revisit this going forward.

Follow up messaging will be done as status changes emerge throughout this emergency repair campaign.
