[ALERT] Heating Hot Water Outage on Tuesday May 9th - Temperature Drift - Message 1 of 2

FOD and external plumbing contractors will be conducting an unplanned outage to heating hot water (HHW) in the PRB on Tuesday May 9th beginning very early in the morning and continuing for most of the day.

With HHW offline, temperatures will quickly drift lower by up to several degrees in nearly all locations in the building.

HHW pumps will be shut off in the very early morning of Tuesday so that a partial drainage of the piping circuit can be done ahead of the repairs.

The repairs are to remedy chronic too cold temperature conditions in offices on the 2nd floor, lab side, north end.

This work was originally planned to not have building-wide impact but a failed isolation valve for the 2nd floor piping was found and must be replaced before activity in the specific work zone can continue.

Weather forecast for Tuesday is warm and this will help with comfort levels.  Office-side spaces have recirculating air and temps will drift lower at first and then may drift higher than normal later in the day.
