FW: Computer network down since 3:30PM today - OCIO working on restoring service - next status update at 6PM

The computer network connection from OCIO to all ASC centralized IT 
services failed today at 3:30PM. OCIO is currently working on the issue. 
We do not know when they’ll have our service back online. Their next 
status update call is at 6PM. I will send out an update after the call.

Most administrative and research computing is down, and computer-based 
instructional labs are also down. Services affected include ASC-hosted 
websites, user logins, software license managers, print servers, and 
file servers. OCIO is aware of the scope of this outage for Arts and 
Sciences.

The problem has been escalated to the highest levels of OCIO, and they 
have a team onsite working on the problem. Unfortunately, as of 5PM, 
they have not yet identified the cause. ASCTech Operations 
Infrastructure staff are actively working with the OCIO people. OCIO has 
a status call at 6PM, so I’ll find out what the status is and send out 
an update after that call.
