ITPC Colleagues:

Unfortunately, the emergency update we attempted to apply this evening 
was not successful forcing us to restore the equipment to its original 
state.  The system was restored at approximately 1:40 AM this morning. 
Access to voicemail via 614-292-4141 has been restored.  Users are able 
to receive and retrieve voicemails and calls are routing successfully 
through the call tree and auto attendant applications.

We are continuing to work with our vendor to resolve a hardware issue.  
I will follow up with more detail today.  Feel free to call or email me 
if you have any questions.

ITPC Colleagues:

As you know, our voicemail service has gone down twice in as many days. 
We’ve been working with the vendor to understand the cause and a plan to 
resolve the problems. The vendor is recommending that new software be 
installed.

In order to prevent another surprise outage, and hopefully resolve the 
problem entirely, we will be implementing what we call an “emergency 
change” to get the new software in this evening. The change is scheduled 
to begin at 9PM this evening (4/18) and complete no later than 6AM 
tomorrow morning (4/19). We estimate the system will be unavailable for 
approximately 4 hours beginning at 9:00PM.  Prior to loading the new 
software and restoring data, our technical team will be backing up the 
system.

*During the software switch, users will not have access to:*

·Retrieve or receive voicemail.

·Access voicemail via 614-292-4141.

·Answer calls which route though call tree and auto attendant 
applications (callers will receive ringing until the service is restored).

Skype for Business voicemail and University call center applications 
(Interactive Intelligence/Customer Interaction Center) are not impacted.

We apologize for the short notice. Our intent in implementing this 
change quickly and during this time window is to minimize any further 
(or future) disruption to our voicemail clients.
