Not much to say for an introduction other than thanks for reading the email!



1) Dr. Ward Q&A


Here is a rough copy of the questions VPM Emerson Slicer asked before Wednesday's rehearsal and the answers given by Dr. Ward.



MGC: Where is the performance of Carmina Burana, what is the call time for rehearsals, and what is the concert attire?


RJW: Carmina Burana will be performed in Weigel Hall. Arrive for the February 22 rehearsal (7:00-10:00 PM) at 6:40 PM, and arrive for the February 23 rehearsal (4:00-7:00 PM) at 3:55 PM. On February 25, the day of the performance, be in Weigel Room 177 at 2:40 and 6:40 PM for the 3:00 and 7:00 PM concert times respectively. Concert attire information will be coming soon.



MGC: What info do you have on the OMEA presentation?


RJW: The OMEA Professional Development Conference is Friday, February 9. You should be at the Columbus Convention Center by 1:40 PM at the latest. We will be in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, and our scheduled presentation time is from 2:00-3:00 PM. Attire will be MGC polo shirt and dress slacks. It is recommended you take the COTA #2 bus down to the Columbus Convention Center. You may drive down, but given high attendance to the conference, parking may be scarce. More travel information and suggestions will be coming from the officer board shortly.



MGC: Will you be writing an excuse letter for February 9?


RJW: One will be going up on Carmen soon.



MGC: Will an excuse letter be going up on Carmen for February 22?


RJW: Yes.



MGC: What information do you have about Candide?


RJW: Candide will be performed in Weigel Hall on Thursday, March 8, and Friday, March 9 at 8:00 PM. The only commitment we have at this time is singing in the finale, similar to the end of the evening Celebration Concert. It is recommended you attend at least one of the two shows, although it is not mandatory. Dress code information and call time will be passed along as soon as it is received.



MGC: Tell us about the Arnold Sports Festival.


RJW: We will be at the Arnold Sports Festival on Saturday, March 3 at the Columbus Convention Center. Attire will be full blazer. I will pass on any more information I get as soon as I receive it from the Festival staff.



An updated calendar with all of this information has been attached to this email.



2) Blazer Distribution


For new members, blazers will be distributed after rehearsal this Friday, January 26, and Monday, January 29, from 5:05-6:05 PM in the blazer closet of Hughes Hall. For those uninitiated, enter the south side of Hughes Hall, go down the stairs, and turn right down the hallway. Take the first left toward Hughes Auditorium, and you should be there. If you are unable to make either of these times, contact VPF Dane Truelson (truelson.4 at osu.edu) immediately.



3) Ice Skating with Women's Glee Club


The Men's and Women's Glee Clubs will be going ice skating Friday, January 26. The group will be departing from Weigel Hall at 6:00 PM. If you wish to go, simply show up; no RSVP needed! Contact VPO Henry Newberg (newberg.8 at osu.edu) with any questions.



4) Columbus Blue Jackets Game


Next Friday, February 2, some members of the Men's Glee Club will be going to the Columbus Blue Jackets game versus the San Jose Sharks. The game starts at 7:00 PM. If you are interested in going, contact Cole Biedenharn (biedenharn.9 at osu.edu) immediately. The $30 required for the ticket are due tomorrow, Friday, January 26.



5) Social Fees


Social fees for the second semester are due this Friday, January 26. Social fees are $10 and can be paid through cash and Venmo. Contact VPF Dane Truelson with any questions.
