[OACRAO] course descriptions | what guidelines to you follow & who handles the bulletin/catalog edits

Hello everyone,

I hope your summer is going well! I am writing to introduce myself as the new registrar (as of Feb) at Denison, by asking you a few questions.

At previous institutions, we always had guidelines or best practices concerning course descriptions. Usually, that meant they were always in the present tense and could be longer than 200 words.

Do you have course description guidelines at your institutions? What are they?

With that two more questions:

Are you responsible for reviewing and publishing the course catalog, do you collaborate with the Provost's office on this?
If not, how does your process work?

  *
Do you publish ALL courses or only courses offered for that specific academic year?
