Janet,
    I'm probably one of those old long time registrars who believes Rules are just Guidelines that work about 95% of the time.  We do advertise a deadline to apply but I've never turned down a late applicant or charged a late fee.  I have never have very many that apply late and usually just a couple of weeks late at most.  Because I want graduates to report for the programs I'll never turn a late applicant away.

Does your institution have a strict deadline for applying to graduate?  How far in advance must they apply?   Is there a fee charged for late applicants?  Are exceptions made?  Can a student appeal?
