UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD, FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES in association with
Wadham College proposes to appoint a full-time Departmental Lecturer in
Chinese literature from 1 January 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter
until 31 March 2014.

The Departmental Lecturer will undertake research and provide replacement
teaching, administration and examining during the leave of the permanent
postholder.

Applicants must hold a doctorate or be in the final stages of their
doctoral studies in the field of Chinese Literature; have specialist
expertise in modern Chinese literature; have a broad familiarity with
Chinese literature and be able to teach undergraduate and masters
students, through tutorials, classes, lectures and seminars, across the
whole field of Chinese literature; be able to demonstrate a proven record
in publishing research of the highest calibre; be able and willing to
undertake administrative responsibilities for the Chinese department; and
have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Also, to
act as the Organising Tutor at Wadham College for its Oriental Studies
students and provide 4 hours per week of tutorial teaching for Wadham
undergraduates.
