This is Yanping Zhang, I am the Acting Events and Communications officer
for China Studies Centre, University of Sydney. Following is the news of
our inaugural online magazine.

Online magazine: China Express

 
The inaugural edition of China Express,
<http://sydney.edu.au/china_studies_centre/china_express/issue_1/> the
China Studies Centre¹s (CSC) online magazine, is now live on the CSC
website. Each edition, members from two of the CSC¹s academic groups
provide us with contributions to the magazine. These articles showcase
CSC¹s academic members research/teaching activities associated with China
and provide opinion pieces about China-related issues. The inaugural
edition features the two academic groups: Education (convenor: Professor
Anthony Welch) and Language, Discourse and Communication (convenor: Dr.
Linda Tsung).
 
In each edition, the magazine also features in each edition an external
contributor, and a visual component.

 
Our external contributors are Chinese academics working in China, and aims
to promote the interesting academic work being conducted in China by
Chinese academics. This section promotes and encourages greater dialogue
between the China Studies Centre and Chinese academics.

 
The visual component is a section of the online magazine, open to all our
members for contribution, including honorary, research student and
associate. It includes photo essays, video interviews of interest and
video coverage of activities in China (where possible) and in Australia
that the China Studies Centre is involved with.
