Fiction and Social Change: Symposium on Yu Hua's Brothers
December 1, 2011, New York University

Join us for a one-day research workshop/symposium on Yu Hua¹s acclaimed
novel Brothers, where Yu Hua himself will be joined by his translators,
Carlos Rojas and Eileen Chow, as well as NYU professor Xudong Zhang, for
an in-depth discussion of the novel. Additionally, NYU graduate students
will showcase their research on issues of contemporary Chinese literature
with respect to Yu Hua¹s authorial practice, the role of the writer in
contemporary China, and other issues. The workshop will have both Chinese
and English as working languages.

The workshop/symposium is open to the public. For any questions, contact
