There is another popular Chinese saying which might be considered as
equivalent: 猪黑不笑老鸦黑。

"龜笑鱉沒尾巴"   immediately comes to my mind. Literally, it means that the
tortoise laughs at the turtle for no tail. (The tortoise calls the turtle
tailless?)

Yet, it is a very common Taiwanese equivalent (not Mandarin, though) for
"the pot calling the kettle black."

I think there is a more equivalent idiom in Chinese: 乌鸦笑猪黑, or in the
negative form, 乌鸦不要笑猪黑。 And in North China, more commonly you'd hear
老鸹 
(lao gua)or 老哇* （lao wa)不要笑猪黑。
