A few announcements from OTDI (formerly OCIO) about Virtual Desktop, Adobe Creative Cloud, and the Student Technology Loan Program.


Virtual Desktop Now Available for Students

Virtual Desktop allows students to virtually access a select set of software applications from anywhere with internet access. This cloud access enables extended use of these applications for students outside of physical lab spaces and allows instructors to provide the same coursework for both in-person and remote learning. Visit the Virtual Desktop page<https://it.osu.edu/virtual-desktop> to learn more, including the software that is available, and connect to the tool.  As a reminder, the only way to retain work done in the virtual desktop environment is to save it in the user's One Drive account.

Teaching and Learning Tool Enhancements, Including Adobe Creative Cloud
OTDI is offering new tools this academic year, including student access to Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe Creative Cloud access is free to all Ohio State students, faculty and staff<https://it.osu.edu/adobe/>. This suite of desktop and mobile apps gives you the tools to create professional videos, photos, websites and more.

Student Technology Loan Program
The Student Technology Loan Program<https://it.osu.edu/student-technology-loan-program> has devices available at Ohio State Marion for students who are eligible for a technology. Students who have this need contact their advisors to start the process. This program ("Digital Flagship 2.0") is intended to provide technology for students who do not have it readily available since the Digital Flagship 1.0 program has ended.
