Save the Date: 2018 International Festival
The 11th Annual Taste of Culture International Festival will be held on Thursday, Apr. 5 from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. A Taste of Culture played host to a multitude of informational booths, live entertainment, food from around the world, arts and crafts, and short educational discussions, bringing together the customs, traditions, color, and flavor of peoples from diverse ethnicities.

Sandy Hackman: A child of Holocaust survivors
In honor of April being Holocaust Awareness Month, Sandy Hackman, a child of Holocaust survivors is coming to present her family's history and carry their legacy to students.
Hackman's parents, step-father, 3 older siblings, grandfather, 2 uncles, aunt, and 2 cousins all survived the Holocaust. Her mother's family lived in Trochenbrod, Poland and survived the Holocaust town's extermination of nearly 5,000 Jewish residents, and fled for the forest to live until World War II ended.
Hackman will share her family's experiences facing bigotry, starvation, brutality, mass murder, and survival during the atrocities that took place more than 70 years ago. All are welcome to attend and pizza will be provided. The presentation will take place Monday, Apr. 9 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 200.
Call for abstracts: Submit research for the 2018 Undergraduate Research Colloquium
Held at the end of each Spring semester, the OSU Marion Undergraduate Research Colloquium showcases student research to the Marion community. Undergraduate students from any discipline and all academic levels are invited to present their research and creative projects.
The Honors and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Committee is calling for abstracts to be submitted to the 2017 The Ohio State University Marion Undergraduate Research Colloquium, which will be held on Friday, Apr. 21.
To participate in the colloquium, please submit an abstract by Friday, Apr. 7.
REACH Suicide Prevention Training
REACH training is back for the spring semester. All are welcome to sign up to learn the risks, warning signs, and how to intervene if somebody you know is contemplating suicide.
The training will take place on Wednesday, Apr. 4 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 125. Sign up with Leslie Beary at beary.4 at osu.edu. You could have the chance to save a life.
Holocaust Awareness Month: The Zookeeper's Wife Showing
The office of Student Life and Diversity and Inclusion invites you to kick-off the month of April, which is Holocaust Awareness Month.
The Zookeeper's Wife will be shown in two parts in Morrill Hall, Room 160 on Tuesday, Apr. 10 and Thursday, April 12 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Pizza will be served both days.
Nikole Patson to receive a Distinguished Undergraduate Research Mentor Award
Ohio State Marion Associate Professor of Psychology Dr. Nikole Patson was recently named a 2018 recipient of The Ohio State University's Distinguished Undergraduate Research Mentor Award.
This award recognizes leadership and support research mentors provide to undergraduate students presenting at Ohio State's Annual Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. Award winners are nominated by undergraduates participating in the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum, and must demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentorship. A student committee reviews the nominations and selects winners each year.
Patson will be formally recognized on stage at the 2018 Denman Undergraduate Research Forum Awards Ceremony at the OSU Faculty Club on Friday, Apr. 6.

Ukrainian Culture: A Brief Overview
In preparation for the International Festival, students are invited to learn more about Ukrainian Culture with Dr. Marianna Klochko.
This event will take place Monday, Apr. 2 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 200.
47th Annual Academic Recognition Program
In honor of outstanding academic achievement, the entire campus community is invited to the 47th annual Academic Recognition Program on Friday, Apr. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Morrill Hall Auditorium. A reception is to follow in the Maynard Hall Guthery Community Room.

Your Design Could be the Wallpaper for 10,000+ iPad Pro Devices
Digital Flagship is excited to announce an opportunity for students with art and design interests to have their work featured on the home screens of the largest 1:1 technology implementation in higher education.
The winner will not only have their work pre-loaded on all 10,000+ devices distributed in the 2018/2019 academic year, but will also receive an iPad Pro, Smart Keyboard, Apple Pencil and protective case. Blood Drive 2018
The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College are hosting another blood drive this academic year. Drug & Alcohol Awareness Event
Get the facts about drugs and alcohol. Students are invited to the Alber Student Center on Wednesday, Apr. 11 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. to gain knowledge about drugs and alcohol. Students will play What is a Drink, wear the beer goggles, play trivia, win prizes, and enjoy mocktails.

Ohio State Climbs in 2018 Peace Corps Rankings
Ohio State has moved up three spots to be ranked No. 6 on the Peace Corps' 2018 list of top-producing colleges and universities. Currently, 62 Ohio State graduates serve in the Peace Corps in 33 countries around the world.
Since 1961, 1,821 Buckeyes have served overseas in areas of agriculture, environment and natural resources, education and community development.  The Office of International Programs in Agriculture in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences oversees Peace Corps recruitment at Ohio State.

Mindfulness Meditation Retreat
Improve your well-being at the Mindfulness Meditation Retreat. This event will take place Thursday, Apr. 12th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm in the Guthery Room in Maynard Hall
