I am no longer working with any United systems but when I accepted one
about three years ago and got pretty good information on what they were
doing at that time, they told me that the United engineer coil tests do not
result in accessible images. So, at that time I tested coils using the same
set-up as United does for coil testing and just a standard SE acquisition.
I believe the coil testing set-up was available in a user manual or
possibly on the scanner itself, see attached for the standard set-up for
the coils we had at that site at the time. You can reconstruct images from
individual elements by clicking "Uncombine" under the System tab while
setting up the protocol.
Christina
PS. If anyone comes back here looking for United homogeneity testing
methods... I can email them to you directly until AAPM IT is able to get
them the website, just shoot me an email.
