In Texas, DXA are exempt from requirements for periodic physicist EPEs (25 TAC 289.227(g)). We still have them performed from a quality assurance/patient safety perspective, but do not require them prior to patient use.
Sincerely,
Will

Hey listers, Happy Monday.
Got a DXA machine. Was moved to a new location last week.
Can patient scanning begin before QMP confirms the machine meets all safety and performance criteria (i.e. Acceptance)?
Not certain if the full scope of regular x-ray regs of Texas applies to DXAs as well or not. (I’m not sure I’m looking at the right TAC).
