As Keith Strauss has graphically demonstrated, patient size and age have basically no relationship. That dose is pretty low for 175 lbs, so if the clinical reviewers like the image quality, you’ll be fine.
Best regards,

The opinions expressed in this message are the product of the gray and white matter loitering in my cranium. I speak for myself and no one else, unless I say otherwise.

The patient is around 175 lbs. and the CTDI is around 11 mGy (reported using the 32 cm phantom) so I don’t expect the ACR would have an issue with this dose. It’s a bit higher than I would like for this age range but not egregious at all.

The pass/fail criteria is 10 mGy for the 32 cm phantom but this value is for a 40-50 lb. patient; are there any guidelines for pass/fail criteria for older (and therefore larger) pediatric patients who may exceed this level?
