[Intl_DxMedPhys] [EXTERNAL] Re: ACR CT Pediatric Clinical Image Question

Thanks Doug! Yes, I was referring to the clinical images here. The patient is around 175 lbs. and the CTDI is around 11 mGy (reported using the 32 cm phantom) so I don’t expect the ACR would have an issue with this dose. It’s a bit higher than I would like for this age range but not egregious at all.

Best,

Mike

Michael,

The dosimetry is evaluated by the ACR only for that patient size. There is no limit placed on other patient sizes. Please note that the phantom and CTDI testing are independent of the clinical exams that are being submitted.,

Doug

Hi all,

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed clinical images for ACR accreditation. I have a quick question regarding pediatric abdomen pelvis exams. The pass/fail criteria is 10 mGy for the 32 cm phantom but this value is for a 40-50 lb. patient; are there any guidelines for pass/fail criteria for older (and therefore larger) pediatric patients who may exceed this level?

Thanks!

Best,

Mike
