[Intl_DxMedPhys] DX blurring artifact

Hi List:

I received an artifact notification related to the blurring across the top
of the lateral TL spine image below - small ROI provided. The image was
taken on a Carestream DRX-Compass device, and the blurred band appears all
the way across the short edge of a 14"x17" digital detector. I'll be
visiting the system soon for its annual physics evaluation, and wanted to
ask if others have seen this artifact on similar detectors/systems? It
reminds me of the old Carestream "bug" which required manual reprocessing
of images after re-shuttering/cropping (esp. on Kodak/Carestream CR), but
this seems different. It looks somewhat similar to detector channel readout
issues I've seen on Trixel detectors, just oriented differently. I'll
experiment with pattern view, flat field, dark field, and phantom imaging
to try to reproduce the artifact, but I'd appreciate any insights that
would help me understand the artifact better and point me toward a remedy.
