ICICLE Release 2026-03
The ICICLE team aims to build the next generation Cyberinfrastructure (CI) to render Artificial Intelligence (AI) more accessible to everyone and to drive its democratization further in solving larger societal problems.
It is with great pleasure that we announce 2026-03 release of ICICLE CI components.
This release includes the following components:
New to ICICLE CI Catalog
Intelligent Cyberinfrastructure
AI-for-CI
*
AutoSDT v1.0.0<https://github.com/ICICLE-ai/AutoSDT>
* An automated pipeline for mining, adapting, and packaging real-world data-driven scientific discovery workflows into independently executable coding tasks (AutoSDT-5K) for training and evaluating AI co-scientists.
*
Proof of Thought v1.0.1<https://github.com/ICICLE-ai/proofofthought>
* A LLM-based reasoning using Z3 theorem proving with multiple backend support (SMT2 and JSON).
Software Architecture and Design
* ICICLE AI Component MCP v1.0.0<https://github.com/ICICLE-ai/catalog_mcp>
* A MCP server that lets developers use AI-powered IDEs to explore ICICLE components and then implement, experiment, and iterate directly from chat inside the IDE. It exposes tools for listing, searching, and retrieving component metadata over MCP.

* HARVEST v1.4<https://icicleai.tapis.io/#/harvest>
* This software release streamlines the entire annotation process by introducing SAM3-segmentation assisted annotation for faster, more precise labeling. It also simplifies data management by allowing directory-level query paths and adds graphical aids to help users visually fine-tune patch sizes and objectness thresholds. Additionally, the inclusion of custom job naming provides much-needed organization for managing multiple workflows at once. Added functionality to generate the field boundary (field size) shapefile separately, making it easier to integrate the spot-spraying shapefile with agricultural software.
The ICICLE team is committed to delivering the best software and CI components. We welcome your feedback and suggestions for future releases. A list of all ICICLE components can be found on our website under CI & Software<https://icicle.ai/cyberinfrastructure/software>
Please subscribe to icicle-discuss<https://lists.osu.edu/mailman/listinfo/icicle-discuss> and post to discuss all installation/build problems, performance issues, features and other miscellaneous questions related to the different software and CI components of the ICICLE project. You are welcome to post patches and enhancements to the released components.
