I did figure out what the title means, but we don't have a full set of Anski's works, and it's not in the first volume which we do have.

It's one of the plays of Sh. An-ski. "Pest" translates to "Plague." Perhaps you can check one of the sets of collected works (e.g. Kol Kitve S. An-ski / S.L. Tsitron, 1921; Gezamelte shriftn, 1928; Oysgeklibene shriftn, 1964;) which would allow you to find the title of the original play by scanning for the character names.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe also post on Hasafran?

We received a book published in 1928 by Felix Stossinger, Berlin: "Die Pest : drama in 3 Akten von Anski" to which is added by hand" nach der Ubersetzung von Rosa Nossig, fur die Buhne bearbeirtet von Arno Nadel".

The cast are: Rabbi Don, Deborah, Miriam, Chananja, Gedalja and three elders.

Any idea what this is a translation of?

Thanks,

Rachel
