I think I would put Vaserman on the 100 and 600, and Shahar in a 700, just like in the writings of Nahman of Batslav. R. Nahman in the 100 but the person who wrote his words down, Nathan Sternharz, in the 700.

Subject: [Heb-NACO] Bi-meritsat hayav, a Holocaust personal narrative -- please advise
I am cataloging Bi-meritsat hayav : sipuro shel Yanek Vaserman, serid Huyovah Gurkah be-Plashuv, which is a personal narrative of the Holocaust. It is written in the first person, but on the cover and title page appears the name Yig'al Shahar. Yig'al Shahar has written the aharit davar in which he relates that he met many times with Yanek Vaserman at which time Vaserman told him his story and reminiscences. Yig'al Shahar has also translated poems mentioned by Vaserman in the book from the Yiddish. It is evident that Shahar wrote down, edited, and transmitted Vaserman's story and words even though he is not given such a role designation in the book. The only record I found for the book is a Hebrew one that puts Yig'al Shahar in the main entry and the 245 $c.
What does one do in the case of personal narratives that have been written down by someone else and responsibility is not clear? Shouldn't Yanek Vaserman go in the 100 field instead (in addition to the 600), even though he did not do the actual writing and his words might have been altered? And Yig'al Shahar put in a 700, unlike the available Hebrew record? Or should Shahar be "given the credit" since he wrote down and put together the book? Doesn't the sub-title ("sipuro shel Yanek Vaserman") indicate responsibility?
