[Heb-NACO] years that are words

Dear Judith,
As we've already said, we can't verify your reading of a chronogram (words that add up to a date) without actually seeing it, in order to be sure which letters are supposed to be counted in the date. If the date you're getting is markedly different from other dates in the book, I would be suspicious that some of the letters you're counting are not meant to be used, or that you've missed some that ARE supposed to be counted.
Can you send a scan of the chronogram to the list?
Joan

Subject: [Heb-NACO] years that are words
Just want to make sure I interpreted this year correctly:
(shenat) "Yirat H' Alamedkhem" = 751, which is 1991 in the Gregorian calendar? It is on the title page, and is markedly different from the copyright date on the verso which is tof-shin-'ayin-bet...
I am correct in calculating years that are words in the same manner that one would calculate from a "normal" Hebrew year date, i.e. add the numerical value of the letters (in this case, in the words) and add 1240?
Thanks
