The message below has been sent to multiple lists; apologies in advance for multiple postings. 
  
Please note that as a result of the problem reported below by the Library of Congress, any authority records with the status “In Distribution” will remain in that status until the problem is resolved and the appropriate files distributed.  This will result in some records being locked for a longer period of time. 
  
Additional information regarding the resolution of this problem will be posted to this list as it becomes available.

To NACO Participants: 
Due to a hardware failure, LC's distribution cycle of MDS files has been interrupted, including daily NACO distribution/contribution.  LC will not be able to resume the daily distribution of these files until Monday, July 2, 2012 at the earliest.  This means that new and changed records will remain locked in the LC/NACO Authority File longer than usual.  We apologize for any inconvenience that may result in your workflow.  NACO participants may continue to contribute new and changed records, but they will not be re-distributed until next week.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
