[Heb-NACO] Author of Ma'amre Rosh ha-Shanah?

Hi Aaron,

I found the record that Bob refers to. This author (as per the NLI record) has actually been established in the LCNAF (nr2005003495). I was trained by our NACO specialist many years ago that if you find authorhship on other records, in this case one of those where the author's name does not appear, we should not question the cataloger's judgement but assume that they have the knowledge from somewhere. I think that you could update the NAR with a reference from the form that you have on your piece, and also from the form of the heading found in the National Library of Israel record "Daṿid, Yonatan Daṿid."

For what it's worth, the Israel Union List record from NNL equates ha-R.M., shelita with Yonatan David David.  I can't speak for the reliability of that information, only that it's there.

Dear Colleagues,

I am currently cataloging Ma'amre Rosh ha-Shanah (lccn: 2011425444).  In a note to the reader, it states that these words were heard in the Bet ha-midrash of the Mesivta Rabenu Hayim Berlin and Kolel Gur Aryeh from the mouth of Maran ha-R. M., shelita and that within them are brought the Torah words of the Baal "Pahad Yitshak."  I know that the Baal "Pahad Yitshak" is Rav Hutner.  None of the current roshe ha-yeshivah have M. as a first initial.  However, the current mashgiah ruhani is Mordekhai Zelig Shechter.  Do people think he is the author of the work?  If not, can someone tell me who Maran ha-R. M. might be?

Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
