The Director of Disability Resources<https://jobs.oberlin.edu/postings/5631> is a continuing, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff (A&PS) position reporting to the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Center for Student Success.  The Director coordinates support services for students with disabilities, serves as a resource for the campus on disability and accessibility, and serves as a liaison for campus groups, faculty, staff and administrators.
Administrative Responsibilities:

● Responsible for proving the leadership, vision, and integrity of and for the Office of Disability Resources
● Oversee the development of processes that provide timely and effective services for students with disabilities at Oberlin College and Conservatory through thoughtful use of resources
● Direct day-to-day business of the office and manage programmatic development for disability resources
● Manage the hiring, training and supervision of office staff
● Provide budget planning and management
● Offer timely, compliant documentation of accommodations to relevant parties and provide robust services including note-taking, group coaching, and other effective strategies
● Manage the maintenance of detailed, confidential student records
● Responsible for the identification and utilization of appropriate technologies to streamline communications, record keeping, scheduling, adaptive technologies and other core functions
● Direct the development, review, and revision of written policies, guidelines, and procedures for determining reasonable accommodations and institutional and student rights and responsibilities
● Manage the development and circulation of effective and accessible communication materials, including printed materials and the office website
● Responsible for effective engagement and proactive communication with students throughout their academic career with Oberlin College and Conservatory
● Collect and analyze data to assess programs and support institutional planning
● Provide consultation for College and Conservatory offices such as Admissions, Facilities, Dean of Students, Academic Advising Resource Center, Residential Life, Registrar, General Counsel, Libraries, CIT, Study Away, Human Resources and other campus offices to ensure appropriate access and accommodation for all students with disabilities
● Responsible for collaborating and engaging with Athletics and other units in policy development, programmatic planning, and awareness involving injuries that cause temporary cognitive and other impacts
● Counsel, advise, and instruct students regarding disability issues
● Assist in the support of institutional, departmental, and programmatic commitments to student self-advocacy
● Develop collaborative partnerships with colleagues in the Center for Student Success
