Hi CSS Colleagues,

First, congratulations to Qiana Whitted on her Eisner Award for EC Comics!

Second, as you plan for the fall semester (I know, I know…), please keep in mind my forthcoming book, due out one month from today on August 27. Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel: Militarism and Feminism in Comics and Film is part of Routledge’s Focus on Gender, Sexuality, and Comics Series of short-form books edited by Frederik Byrn Kohlert. The book’s website<https://www.routledge.com/Wonder-Woman-and-Captain-Marvel-from-Comics-to-Film-Superheroes-Sisters/Cocca/p/book/9780367894696> contains a brief description and table of contents, as well as some preview pages including acknowledgments (that thank some awesome people on this list :-) as well as a part of the introduction that should give you an idea of the book’s approach and chapters. Note that while the page defaults to “hardcover,” there are under “format” both ebook purchase and ebook rental options that are quite affordable.

Thanks for allowing this shameless plug, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I hope all of you are safe and healthy, and I will miss seeing you in person next week.

Best,
Carolyn
