CGS Delegate Meeting

  * Heard presentation about progress on the Buckeye Village transitions
  * Heard from Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza, the Graduate Ombudsperson.
     * She is a free resource for graduate students to use that is confidential, impartial, independent, and neutral.
     * If you have any issues with campus life, academics, etc. feel free to schedule an appointment with her, and she can help direct you to resources.
     * Her email is: gradombuds at osu.edu
Graduate Benefits & Compensation Committee – University Senate

  * Heard and discussed a presentation from two HR representatives regarding the Graduate Student Hiring Process in Workday
  * We are advocating with HR to expedite the hiring process to ease the burden on students and ensure graduate students get paid on-time, with the correct amount, and do not get tuition/late fees added to their student accounts.
  * IF YOU HAVE A PAYCHECK PROBLEM (i.e. less than expected), EMAIL THE GRADUATE PAY “HOTLINE”
     *   HR-GradPayHelp at osu.edu
Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility Committee – CGS

  * The committee meets bi-weekly and is open to any graduate student. If you are interested in advocating for sustainable policies here on campus, send me an email to get involved!
  * This month we heard a presentation from Dr. Kip Curtis detailing his efforts to create a “food hub” through a micro-farm co-op in Marion.
  * We are in the planning stages for several exciting events for the Spring semester. More details to come!
Upcoming CGS Events
